Abstract |
When designing underground structures many
uncertainties have to be dealt with. A very important aspect in
countries with a high soil water level is watertightness. Leakage
during construction may lead to problems which can vary from slight
delay to considerable damage and need for intervention. In the
presentation a number of cases are treated which show that construction
concepts which are considered to be reliable, might nevertheless lead
to problematic situations. One of those cases is the subway in The
Hague, where jetgrouting was used to construct arches, able to
withstand the water pressure over a length of hundreds of meters. Local
failure of the arch led to considerable problems. Another case is the
subway in Amsterdam, now under construction, where bentonite inclusions
occurred in the concrete earth retaining wall. The leakage which
resulted when those inclusions were pushed-out by the soil water did
not only lead to a substantial delay, but also caused damage to
adjacent buildings. Soil freezing techniques were used to repair the
walls and continue construction.

Streszczenie |
Przy projktowaniu budowli podziemnych trzeba
uwzględnić wiele parametrów losowych. W krajach z wysokim
poziomem wód gruntowych takim parameterem jest wodoszczelność.
Przecieki w czasie budowy mogą powodować wiele problemów,
opóźniać budowę, a w konsekwencji prowadzić do uszkodzeń i
wymagać interwencji. W prezentacji przedstawiono szereg
przypadków przedstawiając założenia konstrukcyjne (dobre),
które w praktyce okazały się problematyczne. Jednym z takich
przypadków jest metro w Hadze, gdzie zastosowano jet grouting
(iniekcję strumieniową) do wzmacniania posadowienia łuków,
które miały zrównoważyć napór wody na setkach
metrów długości. Lokalne uszkodzenie łuku spowodowane było
omawianymi problemami. Innym przykładem jest budowa metra w
Amsterdamie, gdzie zastosowano wkładki bentonitowe przy betonowej
ścianie oporowej. Po usunięciu bentonitów wystąpiły groźne
przecieki, które opóźniły budowę oraz uszkodzenia
budynków w sąsiedztwie. Aby usunąć awarię i kontynuować budowę
trzeba było zamrozić grunt.
