Streszczenie
Awarie konstrukcji piętrzących należą do potencjalnie najgroźniejszych w skutkach.
Abstract
Damages of hydraulic structures are events of potentially very serious consequencies. This paper presents the causes of the weir damage on the Meuse - one of the most important waterways of Western Europe - in Lith, the Netherlands, followed by the repair and full rehabilitation of that weir. Discussed are the results of investigations of the material problems and other actions performed under the author's supervision, the immediate actions taken to regain the river control, and the final reconstruction of the weir. In conclusions, the lessons learnt to limit the probability of such damages in the future and on other structures have been presented.
