Woda i zawilgocenie są przyczyną większości destrukcji budowli. Naprawy szkód spowodowanych zawilgoceniem budowli są długotrwałe i kosztowne. Konsekwentne stosowanie kilku reguł pomaga uniknąć poważnych szkód. Jedynym skutecznym sposobem przeciwdziałania jest poprawne planowanie trwałych zabezpieczeń przeciwwilgociowych, stały nadzór nad ich wykonaniem, ciągła ochrona przed zawilgoceniem w trakcie realizacji oraz właściwa eksploatacja budowli. Wymienione działania nie powodują dodatkowych kosztów, są jednak bardzo często zaniedbywane. W referacie podano podstawowe, wynikające z ponad 20 letniej własnej praktyki, reguły planowania, wykonania i eksploatacji budowli oraz przykładowe błędy w realizacji.

Water and moisture cause a majority of all damage in building constructions. Repair because of moisture damage in a building takes a lot of time and money. The consequent fulfilling of a few rules helps to avoid serious damage. The only way for efficacious counteraction is correct planning of durable protect systems, constant superintendence while putting op those systems, continuous protection against moisture during the building process and the proper use of the building. Those rules do not raise the cost of planning or realization, but they are still neglected very often. In the following, based on more than 20 years of own experience, some of the fundamental rules for planning, building and the use of buildings are described, and exemplified mistakes are shown in this paper.
