Katastrofy spowodowane wybuchem gazu stanowią jedynie 5% wszystkich katastrof, które zaistniały w Polsce w ostatnich dwudziestu latach, ale ich skutki są niejednokrotnie tragiczne. Liczba zabitych w wyniku katastrof „gazowych” stanowi 14%, a rannych – aż 39% wszystkich tego typu zdarzeń zaistniałych w wyniku ogółu katastrof budowlanych. Niewspółmiernie wysokie tragiczne skutki jakie za sobą niosą sprawiają, że są one obiektem zainteresowania zarówno obywateli, jak i instytucji publicznych. W pracy podjęto próbę analizy przyczyn powstawania katastrof budowlanych na podstawie własnych rejestrów oraz innych informacji.

Gas explosion disasters account for only 5% of all the disasters that have occurred in Poland in the last twenty years, but their effects are often tragic. The number of deaths due to "gas" disasters is 14%, and the wounded – as much as 39% of all such events that occurred as a result of construction disasters in general. Prohibitively high tragic consequences that they can bring make them the object of interest to both citizens and public institutions. This study attempts to analyze the causes of construction accidents on the basis of their own records and other information.
